The second graders in Mrs. DiGiorno's math class practice strategies for quick recall of math facts by playing "Tens Go Fish" during Math Workshop which is a component of the Investigations Unit.

Mrs. DiGiorno's second graders work on Lexia several times per week to build on their reading skills. Lexia can also be worked on at home as part of homework.

These second graders in room 131 are preparing for their Mt. Lebanon Walking Tour by studying the architecture of Howe School. They can identify headers, stretchers, and other characteristics of outside walls.

The second graders in Miss McGill's class painted birdhouses for Habitat for Humanity. They enjoyed creating the unique birdhouses together with the Howe PTA ...and it was for a great cause! Nice work, second grade!

At the end of October, The second grade classes enjoyed their field trip that included a Walking Tour of Mt. Lebanon. It looks like second grade have a great time while learning about different aspects of the community of Mt. Lebanon.
