The Middle Level Guidance Program in keeping with the mission statement, provides a comprehensive developmental program designed to meet the needs of each student.
Philosophy of Middle Level Guidance and Counseling Program Grades Six Through Eight
Guidance and counseling are functional and integral parts of the educational process for all students. Guidance and counseling are planned sequential programs that include procedures, techniques, and materials that enable students to meet their full potential. These programs are developmental in nature, focusing on the needs of each student. Delivery of services is provided by trained, certified professional school counselors in a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment.
Developmental programs in grades six through eight are based on the belief that all students should participate in activities that will assist them in optimizing their personal, educational, social, and career development.
Guidance and counseling incorporate the working relationships of counselors, students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community. Guidance and counseling complement and reinforce accomplished teaching and instruction.
Guidance and counseling programs are evaluated on a continuous basis to ensure that desired outcomes are being met as needs change.
