Student Outcomes Report Shows High Performance of Schools Continues
The Student Outcomes Report was presented by Dr. Ron Davis and Dr. Marybeth Irvin at the School Board meeting last night. The report details the overall academic progress being made in our schools. Our students continue to meet or exceed the expectations inherent in our educational system. Congratulations to our students, teachers, administrators and parents for another outstanding year.
School District and MLPD to Hold School Safety Meeting for Parents
The Mt. Lebanon School District and the Mt. Lebanon Police Department will hold an informational meeting for parents about school safety on December 3, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Mellon Middle School Auditorium.
Mt. Lebanon Teachers Awarded $13,500 Grant From the Hive Fund for Water Challenge
The Mt. Lebanon School District is pleased to announce that a team of Mt. Lebanon teachers was awarded a $13,500 grant by the Hive Fund for Connected Learning at The Sprout Fund. The grant funded project entitled Water Design Challenge: Dive In! will take students through the process of designing and creating solutions for real world, local and global water crises.
High School Preschool Registration Open for Enrollment
Mt. Lebanon High School will once again offer a preschool program for three and four year olds. To be eligible children must be at least age 3 ½ by March 16, 2015, and 4 year olds must be no older than four years ten months by March 16, 2015. Enrollment is limited to ten children. Deadline for application is February 20, 2015.

WPXI Meteorologist Visits Hoover
WPXI meteorologist Scott Harbaugh visited Hoover Elementary School today to talk to first and second grade students about the weather, and with the crazy weather we've been experiencing, he certainly had a lot to talk about.
Mt. Lebanon Schools Salute Our Veterans
Each year the Mt. Lebanon School District observes Veterans Day and joins the nation to recognize and honor all those Americans who have served our country in the Armed Services.
Auditorium to Reopen with Ribbon Cutting and Chorus Concert on Nov. 18
The High School Auditorium will officially reopen on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony before the performance of the High School Chorus Concert. The Auditorium has been closed for the past year and a half while it was renovated.
Congratulations to the 2014 Great Alumni
Mt. Lebanon High School is proud to announce the 2014 Great Alumni. Congratulations to this year's recipients: Dean A. Calland '72, Betty Jo Hirschfield Louik '72, Clinton A. Hodder '58, Ruby Lee Kang Class of '83, John M. Macdonald '54, Donald Mcilvane '42, and James M. Offutt '61. The Great Alumni were honored at a luncheon at the high school on Friday and at the football game that evening.

Happy Halloween!
Halloween celebrations erupted all around the District today. Despite a few raindrops, Lincoln Elementary continued their long tradition of holding their Halloween parade outside as students marched around the block to the delight of parents. To all of our Trick or Treaters: Happy Halloween and stay safe!

PA Mobile Agriculture Science Lab Makes a Stop at Jefferson Elementary School
The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation, a division of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, brought agriculture education to Jefferson Elementary School with the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Mobile Agriculture Education Science Lab. The lab creates an opportunity for students to learn about agriculture (Pennsylvania’s number one industry) in a fun and hands-on way.

High School Project Photo Update
The high school project is moving along, with significant progress being made each day on the all important D Building. This building is the last academic structure to be built in the project and is the important link that connects all of the buildings. Watch a slideshow of the latest photos.
Model UN Team Keeps the Streak Alive at Penn State
The Model UN team is off and running toward another stellar season. The team won 1st Place at the Penn State Model UN tournament Oct. 16-19th. It was the third consecutive year Mt. Lebanon won the Penn State MUN tournament and is the first tournament for Lebo of the 2014-15 school year.

Four Mt. Lebanon Students Selected National Merit Semifinalists
The officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship Program and four Mt. Lebanon High School students were among list of semifinalists. The students were honored at the Sept. 15 School Board meeting.
Students Take the No Texting and Driving Pledge
Mt. Lebanon students had a chance to participate in Allstate Insurance Company’s Reality RidesSM driving simulator. The driving simulations show the potential consequences distracted drivers could face on the road.
Football Team and Coaches Take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Mt. Lebanon High School Football coaches and team members took the Ice Bucket Challenge and got soaked today, all to raise funds for ALS.

The Mt. Lebanon School District is pleased to announce that High School Social Studies teacher, Ms. Tina Raspanti, has been named an “Unboxed Teacher” by Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc. and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.
Coach Oldaker Brings Home the Gold From China with Team USA
Congratulations to Coach Dori Oldaker for bringing home the gold medal as head coach of Team USA's 3x3 women’s basketball team that competed this week at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
High School Teacher Honored at The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh
The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) celebrated its annual Humanity Day, at which local educators were honored for promoting acceptance and understanding of different faiths. Mt. Lebanon High School Social Studies teacher, Julianne Slogick, was the only high school teacher honored at the event.
