Congratulations to the 2014 Great Alumni
Mt. Lebanon High School is proud to announce the 2014 Great Alumni. Congratulations to this year's recipients: Dean A. Calland '72, Betty Jo Hirschfield Louik '72, Clinton A. Hodder '58, Ruby Lee Kang Class of '83, John M. Macdonald '54, Donald Mcilvane '42, and James M. Offutt '61. The Great Alumni were honored at a luncheon at the high school on Friday and at the football game that evening.
Quaver Visits Howe Elementary School
Graham Hepburn aka Quaver made a surprise visit to the students at Howe Elementary on Tuesday, October 7. He spoke to the students about his background in music and what lead to the production of Quaver's Marvelous World of Music. It was a music fest at its best. Mt. Lebanon School District Volunteer Fingerprinting Event
The Mt. Lebanon School District is hosting an FBI fingerprinting event for District volunteers.This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Jefferson Middle School Library, 21 Moffett Street. There are only 48 time slots available for fingerprinting so be sure to sign up early.
High School Social StudiesTeacher Selected as "Unboxed Teacher" by Leadership Pittsburgh
The Mt. Lebanon School District is pleased to announce that High School Social Studies teacher, Ms. Tina Raspanti, has been named an “Unboxed Teacher” by Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc. and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Ms. Raspanti was nominated by Superintendent Dr. Timothy Steinhauer.
Blue Devil High Q Team Moves On In KDKA's Hometown High Q Competition
Congratulations to the Blue Devil High Q team of Charles Yuan, Rida Merchant, and Vivek Anil for their outstanding performance at the Westfield Insurance Hometown High Q Competition! The team won this round and will move on to the semifinals in January. Thank you to Namandeep Singh and Abbas Merchant for also being part of the team. Tune in to KDKA at 11:00 a.m. on October 18th to watch the show.

PA Mobile Agriculture Science Lab Makes a Stop at Jefferson Elementary School
The Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation, a division of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, brought agriculture education to Jefferson Elementary School with the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s Mobile Agriculture Education Science Lab. The lab creates an opportunity for students to learn about agriculture (Pennsylvania’s number one industry) in a fun and hands-on way.

This morning, a special commemoration of 9/11 was held at Markham Elementary School where members of the Mt. Lebanon Police and Fire Departments were recognized and thanked for their constant vigilance to keep our community safe from harm. Watch a slideshow.

September 2, 2014, is the first day of school for students in the Mt. Lebanon School District. On a historic note, September 2, 1912, was the date of the first day of school for the newly formed Mt. Lebanon School District.
Four Mt. Lebanon Students Selected National Merit Semifinalists
The officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship Program and four Mt. Lebanon High School students were among list of semifinalists. The students were honored at the Sept. 15 School Board meeting.
Students Take the No Texting and Driving Pledge
Mt. Lebanon students had a chance to participate in Allstate Insurance Company’s Reality RidesSM driving simulator. The driving simulations show the potential consequences distracted drivers could face on the road.
The Class of 2018 Is In The House!
The high school welcomed the Class of 2018 to freshman orientation this week with a high school transition program called Link Crew.
Football Team and Coaches Take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Mt. Lebanon High School Football coaches and team members took the Ice Bucket Challenge and got soaked today, all to raise funds for ALS.

Coach Oldaker Brings Home the Gold From China with Team USA
Congratulations to Coach Dori Oldaker for bringing home the gold medal as head coach of Team USA's 3x3 women’s basketball team that competed this week at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
High School Teacher Honored at The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh
The Islamic Center of Pittsburgh (ICP) celebrated its annual Humanity Day, at which local educators were honored for promoting acceptance and understanding of different faiths. Mt. Lebanon High School Social Studies teacher, Julianne Slogick, was the only high school teacher honored at the event.
New Teachers Welcomed to the District
District administrators welcomed new teachers this week during an orientation program full of information and expectations to prepare for the new school year.
District Retirees Honored at School Board Meeting
At the May 19, 2014 School Board meeting, retiring staff members were honored for their service to the school district.
