Mt. Lebanon High School Musicians Excel at Local Competitions

Mt. Lebanon High School student Ziqi Meng won second place and a $150.00 Scholarship at the Pittsburgh Philharmonic "Young Artist Concerto Competition." He played the first movement of the Bruch Violin Concerto.
Zhaoliang Du, a double bass and piano player in the high school orchestra, was a winner in the Pittsburgh Concert Society's 2013 Young Artists Competition. He was awarded a $500 Anna and Benjamin Perlow Scholarship to further his musical education and will be featured in a March 17, 2013 recital at Kresge Recital Hall in the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University. The adjudicator was Dr. Adrian Daly, Dean of the Conservatory at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
