Students Donate School Supplies to City School
August 18, 2013
Thanks to Mt. Lebanon High School students, Kara Touscany and Hannah Linn, Spring Hill Elementary School in Pittsburgh will have extra school supplies for the start of school. The two Lebo students came up with the idea to hold a collection of gently used school supplies from the high school’s locker clean-out days at the end of last year to donate to a Pittsburgh Public elementary school. Kara and Hannah looked for a school that could use the supplies, made the phone calls, established a school as a partner, and organized the plan to collect supplies with student volunteers. The students collected:
20 lbs of folders
65 lbs of spiral bound note books
10 lbs of "office supplies"
105 lbs of three ringed binders
15 lbs of loose leaf paper
The school supplies were delivered to Spring Hill in time for the start of the school year.
