Link Crew Welcomes Freshmen to Mt. Lebanon High School September 1, 2013
Link Crew Leaders with incoming freshmen at orientation last week.
This year the high school welcomed the incoming freshman class with a new program to help with the transition from middle school to high school. The program is called Linked Crew, a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Last spring 95 sophomores and juniors were selected as Link Crew leaders through an application process with their goal to mentor incoming freshman. High School Guidance Counselor Mrs. Shelly Saba was awarded a grant through the Mt. Lebanon Foundation for Education that funded a four day Link Crew training program that she attended along with unit principal Ms. Erin Wright and math teacher Mr. Mike Locke. They led training sessions in August for the student Link Leaders in preparation for freshmen orientation on August 27.
As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshmen success.
