Model UN Team Wins 1st Place at Duquesne University Tournament

Congratulations to the Model UN team!

The high school Model United Nations team recently competed with 400 students from 25 high schools across Pennsylvania in the Duquesne University Model UN tournament on Jan. 31. Mt. Lebanon won the 1st place team award--Best Delegation--and also claimed the 1st place Individual Student Award.  It is the 3rd tournament our Model UN has competed in during this school year and is the 3rd tournament we have won the 1st place award.
 
The following students won the Best Delegate--1st place award as China: Ryan Fan, Matt Horrigan, Azfar Merchant, Joel Kirshner, Mitchell Bognar, Anna Wadhwani, Julia Maloney, Olivia Pandolfi and Laura Qi.
 
Also winning individual honors were Katie Brown and Lewis Gross, Pascal Brooks and Jason Hois, Matt Horrigan and Azfar Merchant, Anna Hutchinson and Michael Oxenreiter. 
 
Winning the award for 3rd place top individual student was Katie Brown and winning the 1st place top individual student award was Azfar Merchant. 
 
The Model UN team's next competition will be at a national invitational tournament at Duke University in North Carolina from February 13-16.
The Model UN faculty advisors are George Savarese, Peter DiNardo, and Adam Lumish.
