Washington 5th Grade Sings, Dances, and Acts in Theater Workshop
February 14, 2014
Washington 5th grade students work with Billy Hartung from
Center for Theater Arts to rehearse a scene from Seussical.

The Center For Theater Arts, under the direction of Billy Hartung, brought a theater workshop to the 5th grade students at Washington School today.  The theme of the workshop was Oh, the Places You'll Go! Each class rotated through a session of acting, singing, and dancing to a scene from Seussical the Musical. All of the students had a role to play in the workshop script. The experience allowed students the opportunity to perform for each other and for the kindergarten classes.

Students were able to discover, explore, and understand their many talents, while collaborating with their classmates.  It was a memorable and unique opportunity for the student to step into the spotlight and shine. Look for these future stars to perform in the high school musical a few years from now.

The Center for Theater Arts was founded in 1981 to offer professional performing arts classes to children and teens in the Pittsburgh area.
