High School Freshman Takes Home Top Honors from Public Theatre's Shakespeare Competition
February 19, 2014

Over 1200 students from Allegheny County, including 22 from the Mt. Lebanon School District, competed in the Pittsburgh Public Theatre's Shakespeare Scene and Monologue Contest. Mt. Lebanon High School freshman Burke Rhodes and Logan Shiller from CAPA performed a scene from Shakespeare’s "The Two Gentlemen of Verona." Taking on the roles of Proteus and Valentine, the duo was chosen as the Grand Winner of the Upper Division Scene.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the competition, the Public created a special program that includes memories from former participants, including statements from Mt. Lebanon grads Josh Landay, Emily Lorini, Meghan Foehr, Beth Rudoy, and Gillian Jacobs.
