High School Wrestlers Visit Howe to Say "Thanks!"
March 28, 2014
You’re never too old to go back to elementary school, especially if it’s to thank students for their support. High school wrestlers Kellan Stout, Kevin Kinyua, and Zeynul Zaynullayev--all PIAA State Wrestling Qualifiers--made a visit to Howe Elementary second grade classrooms last week to thank the students and teachers for the good luck cards they received from them before the state championship.
Howe P.E. teacher Chris Kolling had kept Howe teachers updated throughout the season on one wrestler in particular, Kellan Stout, a former Howe student. From there, the idea was born to make cards of support for Kellan and his teammates Kevin and Zeynul as they traveled to the state championship tournament.
Last week, the three wrestlers visited the students at Howe to thank them for their support. They answered questions about their experiences at the state meet and each read a book to the class during their visit. Wrestling coach—and Almanac Wrestling Coach of the Year-- Bill Lewis was on hand to thank everyone as well.
