A mad scientific experiment? No-just making ice cream.
The students in Mrs. Meer's Honors Chemistry classes are studying states of matter and the properties of solids, liquids, and gases. They recently used liquid nitrogen to discover the relationship between volume and temperature of gases, and also examined the solidification process while making ice cream. The ice cream recipe has been in Mrs. Meer's family for 100 years, a true family heirloom. Aside from the science, the secret to making the best ice cream, according to Mrs. Meer, is the quality of the vanilla. The students had a chance to sample the delicious outcome of their science experiment.
