A Message From the Superintendent
April 10, 2014
Dear Mt. Lebanon Families,
Our thoughts are with the students, staff, and families of Franklin Regional High School as they begin to recover from the tragic events that occurred yesterday. Unfortunately, these events cannot always be predicted or prevented. The sad fact is that incidents with serious consequences can occur in any community. We all have the responsibility to work together to keep our schools safe by being aware and vigilant of potentially threatening situations. We always ask our students and parents to report concerns to school staff to help us prevent an unfortunate incident from occurring.
After a school crisis, we review our safety procedures and reflect on how well we are prepared if something were to occur on one of our campuses. Be assured that our staff is well trained and ready to respond to school emergencies. We continue to maintain and refine the safety protocols that are in place throughout the District. We regularly train with the Mt. Lebanon Police and Fire Departments to implement best practices in school safety.
I want to assure you that our administrators, teachers, and staff make student safety our top priority. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Timothy J. Steinhauer, Ed.D.
