Hoover Principal Kelly Szesterniak Inducted into Brookfield High Athletic Hall of Fame
May 29, 2014
Mrs. Szesterniak then and now.

Congratulations to Hoover Principal Kelly Szesterniak on her induction into the Brookfield Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame, in Brookfield, Wisconsin on May 17.  Mrs. Szesterniak was a standout in cross country, track, and basketball.  In cross country she was voted team captain her senior year, while all four years her team qualified for states, placing third in 1994 and again in '95.

In track she set three school records-400 dash, 3200-meter relay team and as the team captain and MVP in '97, her senior year, she placed fourth at the state meet setting another school record in the 800-meter.

Mrs. Szesterniak also excelled in basketball. During her senior year, she was both team captain and MVP, and was selected to play in the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches All-Star Game. That year she became the first girl in Waukesha County to score 500 points in a single season and holds seven school records: career points (1209), season points (502), game points (36), field goals/season (174), free throws/season (117) and steals/career (202). As a result of her basketball skills,  Mrs. Szesterniak earned a 4-year, full scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she played from 1997-2001, winning four conference titles and appearing in three NCAA Tournaments, all while making the dean's list all four years. She was also named to the Conference All-Academic Team. Congratulations to Mrs. Szesterniak on this outstanding recognition.
