Dapper Dan
See the best high school seniors in the country and the state of Pennsylvania at the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the University of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania puts its reputation on the line when the WPIAL All-Stars take on the Wisconsin all-star team at 5:30 PM followed by the PA versus the USA all-stars at 7:30 PM.

Lebo wrapped up the season this weekend at the WPIAL Regional Championships. Lebo qualified 7 wrestlers for this weekends tournament. It had been 20 + years since the Blue Devils have sent 7 or more to the regional tournament. Lebo will graduate three of it's qualifiers... Stan Kochanek, Andrew Buda, and Greg Perri. The good news is that Lebo will return 4 WPIAL Qualifiers next year... Andy Buttler (10th), Adam Kemerer (9th), Chris Kostas (11th), and Connor O'Hara (11th).

Senior Recognition

Blue Devils Beat USC 42-27
Congratulations to the following wrestlers for winning their matches against USC: Adam Kemerer, Chris Kostas, Andrew Buda, Scotty Allen, Greg Perri, Mike Westhead, Tim Kiernan, and Connor O'Hara. Lebo improved it's overall record to 8-3 with the win over USC.

BLUE DEVIL WRESTLING - WEEKEND UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend's junior varsity invitational such a success. The coaching staff appreciates the sacrifice of time and energy our wrestlers, parents, youth coaches and volunteers put into making the afternoon run smoothly.
Special thank you to Linda Lodge for organizing the concession stand and volunteers... Tina Raspanti for being the tournament expeditor... Janie Eberz, Erin Polena, and Rose Schrott for assisting Ms. Raspanti... Mary Lou and Anna Wotring for selling 50/50 tickets all day... our parent volunteers working the concession stand and scoring table... our youth coaches and their wives for lending us a hand all day... our varsity wrestlers for giving of their time and everyone else who helped provide a great opportunity for wrestlers to get some quality "mat time."

MTL Defeats Peters Township
Congratulations to the Blue Devil Wrestlers for improving their overall record to 7-3 on the season. Lebo defeated the Peters Township Indians 49-24. Winning by major decision was Stan Kochanek. Winning by fall were Tom Bellotti, Chris Kostas, Andrew Buda, Greg Perri, J.T. Buda, Tim Kiernan, and Connor O'Hara. Also winning by forfeit was Billy Buono. Special congratulations to Kahlil Thomas for winning his exhibition match.
Mt. Lebanon JV Invitational (AKA Allemania on the Mat)
On Saturday, February 2 the Blue Devil Road Warriors get to stay home. We will be having an afternoon of Junior Varsity Wrestling in the South Gymnasium at Mt. Lebanon H.S. All junior varsity wrestlers should report to the south gym for set-up at 12:00 PM. Weigh-ins will be held at 1:00 PM and wrestling will begin promptly at 2:00 PM. All table workers should report to the south gym no later than 1:30 PM. If you still wish to lend a hand please contact John Hnath or Linda Lodge
Youth Recognition
Prior to the Varsity match against Peters Township the Lebo youth wrestlers competed against the Lil' Indians. congratulations to the young guns for putting forth an outstanding effort in the preliminary match. Also, congratulations to Chris Perri for being honored before the match for his outstanding contributions to the youth program and Mt. Lebanon Wrestling. Coach Perri was a standout wrestler for Mt. Lebanon. He was a PIAA Runner-up his senior year. He then went on to have a very successful career at Kent State where he lettered several times. Coach Perri has coached on all levels and has been a significant contributor to the rebuilding of the youth wrestling program. Congratulations Coach Perri and thank you for all the time and effort you give back to Mt. Lebanon Wrestling!
