What is the role of PTA Council?
The role of Council is to bring the individual units together in a school district.  Council offers support and leadership to the individual units.  In addition, Council provides district wide programs.
 
PTA presidents work with their building principal, who does the council president work with?
The Council President works with the District Superintendent.  In addition, PTA Council works with the MLEA and School Board.  Each month the Council President, Superintendent and MLEA representative meet to discuss items of interest to each group.

How are committees selected to be represented by PTA Council?
Council committees are required by the State PTA.  Each unit must have these committees, additional committees are the decision of each unit.  Mt. Lebanon PTA Council is currently working to make sure that all units refer to required committees by the same name.

Who can attend PTA Council meetings?
PTA Council meetings are open to all PTA members.  Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 1 PM.  Exceptions are no meeting in December and the May meeting is the last Wednesday of the month.  Locations vary, check your district calendar or the website for location.  We encourage you to attend.
