Thank you for visiting the Mt. Lebanon PTA Website

PTA’s National Strategic Plan, adopted at the National Convention in St. Louis, includes this PTA Mission: PTA is

  • A powerful voice for all children,
  • A relevant resource for families and communities, and
  • A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.

Mt. Lebanon PTA believes in this mission.  We value our schools, our teachers and administrators, and we believe that parents are a vital part of the formula which directly contributes to the success of students in our District.   The District’s mission of “Providing the Best Education Possible for Each and Every Student” fits well with the National PTA Mission.  It is because of our strong partnership with our schools that your PTA is able to introduce new programs, host parent education programs, supply valuable classroom volunteers and sponsor clubs.   We are invited to join District committees, and our opinions are sought and valued on those committees.

There is pertinent information regarding each and every school in the district on this website.  Since we are linked to the District site, you can conveniently visit dashboard, check the athletic schedule, find out what great concert or event is in the Fine Arts Theatre, and then click to see news about your PTA.

We have an incredibly active group of volunteers.  From traveling art galleries, to science clubs; Writing Lab to fun-fair helpers; foreign language clubs to Jr. Great Books; Vision Screening, Arts in Education, Environmental Concerns—these are just a few of the great opportunities available in many of our schools for parents to stay involved in the educational lives of their children, while helping many others.

Those of us with children in the District are influenced daily by our schools.  Please feel free to share your school’s events with your neighbors who might be retirees, empty-nesters, newlyweds, singles or those with young children.  To quote Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children.”   What will you do for the children of Mt. Lebanon?  How will you share your talents so that our schools, our community, our society become stronger?

On behalf of the Mt. Lebanon School PTA, I thank you for your support in the coming school year. Join your local unit’s PTA.  Together, we give Every Child, One Voice.
