Art at Hoover
Art education is an important part of every child's life because it provides a special kind of knowledge. It helps to develop unique mental capabilities, which foster flexible, divergent, original, fluent, and imaginative thinking. Art involves the total child--his/her intellect, emotions, and physical skills. It also provides opportunities for a child to progress from the inception of an idea through to a complete, well-crafted product.
Throughout the year, look for curriculum connections, art history connections, and the use of a variety of tools, media and processes. Most of all, watch how Hoover artists exhibit a sense of joy and excitement as they make and share their artwork!
