Art at Hoover
Art education is an important part of every child's life because it provides a special kind of knowledge. It helps to develop unique mental capabilities, which foster flexible, divergent, original, fluent, and imaginative thinking. Art involves the total child--his/her intellect, emotions, and physical skills. It also provides opportunities for a child to progress from the inception of an idea through to a complete, well-crafted product.
Throughout the year, look for curriculum connections, art history connections, and the use of a variety of tools, media and processes. Most of all, watch how Hoover artists exhibit a sense of joy and excitement as they make and share their artwork!
All students in grades 1 through 5 have a 45 minute Art Class once per week.
DAY 1: Mrs. Witucki, Mrs. McMullen, Mr. Hansberry, Mrs. Sholder, Mrs. Pitzer
DAY 5: Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Richards, Ms. Brown, Mrs. Schuler, Miss Kaylor
Students receive a progress report 4 times a year, at the end of each 9 weeks.
