Welcome to Herbert Clark Hoover Elementary School located in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Of the seven elementary schools in the district, Hoover was the last to be built. Its doors opened in 1965 as a Primary School, expanding to include Intermediate classes in 1969.
The Renovations of Hoover Elementary began in the summer of 2004. One of the architectural features that remain is the large fish pond, a favorite meeting place for students. The building is now a beautiful facility inside and out, with new classrooms, library, lunchroom and up to date technology for our students.
Hoover School has a current enrollment of approximately 250 students grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. The teaching staff is committed to meeting the needs of all learners. There are 23 teachers on staff who strive to provide the best education possible for each and every student as stated in the Mt. Lebanon mission statement.
The rules to live by at Hoover are called “Lend a Hoover Hand” and are posted in all classrooms and throughout the school.
1. Use kind words 2. Walk quietly in the hall 3. Be respectful toward adults and peers 4. Be responsible and in control of yourself 5. Always try your best
The Hoover PTA is an important organization concerned with the education and well being of all children. Hoover is a special place and I invite you to learn more about our school by reading our grade level highlights.
