It's time for one more Box Tops contest! The last Box Tops contest of the year starts this Monday, 5/20 and ends this Thursday, 5/23 so please send in your Box Tops with your child this week. We are just a few dollars shy of our $1500 goal for the school year!
Be sure to label your child's Box Tops bag with the name of your child's homeroom teacher (just in case it would somehow get separated from the classroom's bag).
The winning homeroom in each grade will receive an extra recess!
Results will be announced in the Monday, 5/27 e-mail blast. Let's see just how high Howe's total will be for the school year! Questions? Contact: Julie Daubner geo.mom@verizon.net Corporate Rewards Committee Chair
Learn more about the school board candidates. The Mt. Lebanon Council PTA has compiled a list of questions for Mt. Lebanon school board director candidates and submitted the list to them for their answers. This is a non-partisan service PTA provides to the community so it can learn more about the candidates. To see the candidates' responses, click here.
Remember to vote on Tuesday, May 21!
Please note the date and time change for our next PTA meeting. Because of a schedule conflict, the Howe PTA meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 5/15 at 9:15 a.m. will now be held on Wednesday, 5/22 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting/volunteer appreciation night will include a thank-you treat for all our many volunteers. Additionally we'll be voting on next school year's budget, as well as several expenditure requests for this school year.
Hope to see you there!
Need to be reimbursed for a PTA expense? If you've purchased something for a PTA committee or activity and haven't yet submitted your receipt and reimbursement form to me, please do so by Thursday, 6/6 at the latest. Also please deposit any reimbursement checks you have from PTA.
PTA needs to have everything in order by the end of its fiscal year, which is 6/30, and then the Audit Committee must perform the audit to ensure everything is ready for the next school year.
Reimbursement forms are in the Treasurer drawer in the PTA cart in the auditorium. You can turn in your receipts and reimbursement forms there as well. Thank you for your help!
Questions? Contact: B.J. Boering PTA Treasurer mailbjnow@gmail.com
Report reminder: PTA officers and committee chairs: If you haven't yet submitted your PTA officer or committee chair report, please send it to me as soon as you can. If you need a copy of the form, please contact me.
Thank you! Arwen Eger PTA Historian arweneger@gmail.com
Shopping for teacher thank-you gifts? Looking for something to get your child's teacher for the end of the school year? Now you can look through the Teacher/Staff Idea Binder to find a teacher or staff member's favorite restaurant, favorite place to shop, and hobbies.
This blue binder can be found in the office next to the computer where you sign in and out.
Got coffee cans? If you have a metal coffee can--or two--that you'd be willing to donate to next school year's Colonial Day, please contact 5th grade teacher Mrs. Ann Platt at aplatt@mtlsd.net. We found this year that large, metal coffee cans (with plastic lids) work much better for ice cream making than the existing large cans do, and we need at least four more. We're hoping to collect them now so they can be packed away with the other Colonial Day ice cream making supplies for next school year. Thanks!
