Mrs. Judy Sutton from the Mt. Lebanon Public Library visited our first graders to tell them a story and invite them to become library card holders at our community library.
Howe's third annual Family Reading Night was held on June 2nd. Students, parents and friends celebrated an evening of reading by participating in a variety of fun events. Activities included a musical "Book Walk", "Sound Stories", make 'n take art activities, several readers theater productions and a reading, an outside mural to decorate and our spectacular "Parade of Books" with it's more than 70 floats! The Howe community certainly demonstrated an enthusiastic tribute to the value of books and the love of reading with this event! Thank you to all who participated.
May 2008 Illustrator David Catrow Visits Howe School. . . Illustrator, David Catrow visited Howe on April 8th. Catrow has illustrated over 30 books for children including such favorites as Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon, Plantzilla, and Take Me Out ofthe Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs. Catrow delighted our students during two assemblies with the Dr. Seuss-like characters he drew for them.
