A Message from Our Principal
   
Welcome to Julia Ward Howe Elementary School! Our school is a place to be proud of. We have a long tradition of academic excellence, with consistently high achievement levels, demonstrated by our PSSA scores, which places us among the top elementary schools in western Pennsylvania. Moreover, our students understand that their success is measured through their character and leadership as much as it is by their grades and test scores.
We have a strong commitment to the success of all students, and these characteristics are clearly demonstrated by the many dedicated individuals who make up the Howe faculty and staff. Our staff is highly skilled and knowledgeable, our parents are extremely supportive, and our students are motivated and talented. We are committed to working collaboratively with our entire team to ensure that we meet the needs of all of our students. The Howe Elementary PTA is an essential component in this effort, and any Howe Elementary parent is welcome to participate in their work.
Together, all of us help to make Howe Elementary School a rich, diverse, and inspiring place to be. It is a pleasure being a part of the Howe Elementary School community, and I welcome your feedback and insights about ways we can continue to improve and to make this school all that it can be.
