Jefferson Middle School Principal's Message
Hello Jefferson Middle School Families!
It is my sincere pleasure to introduce myself as the new principal of Jefferson Middle School. I am honored to be working in a place with an outstanding reputation for academic excellence and for maintaining such a warm and caring environment for students.
I am not new to Mt. Lebanon or to Jefferson Middle School. I am a proud graduate of the district, and for the past three years, I have served as the Supervisor of English Language Arts. During this tenure, I have had ample opportunity to work closely with the administration and staff at Jefferson to maintain our high standards of educational excellence. I fully recognize the wonderful place Jefferson Middle School truly is. We have the greatest staff around!
Prior to returning to Mt. Lebanon, I served for two years as the Director of Curriculum for the Aliquippa School District and six years as the junior high principal for the Hopewell Area School District. My teaching experience includes 10 years of teaching English and Theater Arts, eight of those years in Maryland. On a more personal note, I am a father of four children, two of whom are in middle school, so I fully appreciate life’s challenges at their age. I expect they will provide unique insight into my work.
I am fortunate to be working with Mr. Ramsey as the assistant principal. He is an impressive administrator with a sincere passion for meeting individual student success. I look forward to a strong partnership leading Jefferson to new heights. At the same time, I will miss the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Joan Zacharias as she transitions to her new role as a classroom teacher on the Wildfire Team. We are fortunate to have her remain with us in this new capacity, and I am thankful for her support and advice during this summer of transition. Jefferson has benefitted tremendously from her ten years leading this school so positively and productively.
In closing, I am very much looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead. Jefferson Middle School is a wonderful place to come to work every day. I am confident it will continue to be just as wonderful for students to come to school every day as it always has been. I am counting on your support and confidence as we seek to provide the best possible education for each and every student.
