Lincoln News and Reminders
Wellness Guidelines for Parties, Celebrations, and Birthdays in the Classroom
- Nuts, peanut butter, or any nut or seed items are not permitted in ANY of the food items offered.
- Fresh fruits and vegetables must be offered any time there is food brought into a classroom for a party, celebration, or birthday.
- 100% fruit juice, milk, or water are the only beverages permitted to be offered.
- Sugar as the first ingredient may be offered in only 2-3 other food items.
- Food items should be store bought and packaged individually. Homemade food should not be provided.
- Food allergic students should have their own safe snack box in their classroom that is provided by their parents and consume food out of those boxes only.
Rewards
Food will not be used as a reward for classrooms or school activities unless the reward is an activity that promotes a positive nutrition message (i.e. guest chef, field trip to a farm or farmer's market, etc.).

It's easy! Every time you shop at Giant Eagle using your Advantage Card, you can earn points for Lincoln which we can save and redeem for great educational tools.

For help registering call call Giant Eagle Customer Care at 1-800-553-2324, from 8AM until 9PM, 7 days a week, or visit your local Giant Eagle store.
- Go to www.gianteagle.com
- Click on My Account at the top in blue letters
- Log into your account or create a new account to register your Giant Eagle Advantage card. (Be sure to enter the tiny numbers at the beginning and end of your card number.)
- Apples for Students should appear on the left hand menu
- Enter the school id 1692
- The screen should then say "Lincoln Elementary."
