Congratulations to the following students who qualified by live audition to participate in the PMEA District 1 Honors Band. The concert was held at North Hills Middle School on Sunday, November 19. Students taking SATs at Mt. Lebanon on Saturday, December 2, 2017, should be dropped off at the auditorium entrance (A-2) along Cochran Rd. Doors open at 7 am, and testing starts promptly at 8 am. Students parking on-site should use the Faculty / Staff parking lot on the south side of the building, but all test-takers should enter only through the Auditorium entrance (A-2) along Cochran Rd. Signs inside the building will show room assignments, and guides will direct test-takers to those testing rooms. Bring all required materials (see College Board rules), or you will be turned away without refund. Please note that school ID from last school year is valid for SAT admission purposes only until December of this school year. Please contact the Test Center Supervisor, Rolf Briegel, at rbriegel@mtlsd.net with any questions or concerns.

This November, sixteen students from the High School STEM Academy visited Carnegie Mellon University's Biomedical Engineering Laboratories to learn about careers in biomedical engineering. The students were able to see the forefront of research happening in this field that includes the three-dimensional printing of replacement polymer heart valves, the creation of artificial lungs, the use of stem cells in the creation of replacement tissue for newborns, and the implementing of advanced, portable echocardiogram devices.

"Lucian Mikush (Howe), Atlantic Rajakumar (Markham), and Michael Ferreira (Jefferson) compete with students from other area schools to solve puzzles with math equations at the Heinz History Center. All three students won their division games for their elementary teams and qualifying for placement at the national tournament later this year down in Knoxville, TN. Altogether, Mt. Lebanon's Academic Games club has competed in 3 of their 6 local tournaments already this year, Equations and presidential trivia, and have seen 26 different students qualify for nationals. They're off to a great start and learning a lot along the way!"

There are adjusted bell schedules on November 22nd due to Thanksgiving. All students will be dismissed on Wednesday, November 22nd at 12 PM. The US History/APUSH and Pitt Calculus Exams will be held on November 29th from 8:00-9:10 AM. ALL STUDENTS report to school at 8am. 1st period will begin at 8am on this day. Students will report to homeroom after their first period.

The Mt. Lebanon High School FBLA participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's on November 4, 2017 after raising over $1000 for the Alzheimer's Association. Thank you to everyone who helped by organizing and donating!

For your convenience, listed below is the Fall Spirit Week "Theme of the Day": Murica Monday – wear red, white, and blue from head to toe Twin Tuesday – wear an outfit that copies one that a friend or your homeroom is wearing Pink Out Wednesday – wear pink Trick or Treat Thursday – wear a costume that doesn't hinder your ability to walk or interferes with somebody else walking near you. Face masks and any type of weapon are not allowed. Elementary School Friday- if you live in the District, please wear the colors of the elementary school closest to you or the one you attended as a child; otherwise, you can wear Lebo blue and gold. Elementary School Colors: Foster – yellow Hoover – black Howe – orange Jefferson – blue Lincoln – green Markham – red St. Bernards – gray Washington – white Every student who dresses up as the "Theme of the Day" is invited to come to the Activities Office and sign up to win a prize. Also, the Homeroom with the most participation in Theme of the Day on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be awarded donuts on a Friday in November.

Mt. Lebanon High School's annual Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 14, from 8:00pm-11:00pm. The Homecoming Dance is a long-standing, Mt. Lebanon High School tradition. It is a semi-formal dance, and all students are invited to attend. This year's theme is "Roaring 1920's; A Night with Gatsby" Tickets are $10. The last day for ticket sales is Friday, October 13, at 3:30pm.
