US News and World Report released their 2017 rankings of the Best High Schools in America. Mt. Lebanon High School achieved a Silver Award .The high school ranked #638 in the nation, #11 in the state and #2 in Western PA. The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 22,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.
The methodology used by US News to determine the awards includes an analysis of students who perform better than expected in their state; disadvantaged students who perform better than state average; student graduation rates meet or exceed a national standard; and students who are prepared for college-level coursework.
The high school has moved up in the ranking since 2016 when it ranked #911 in the nation, #21 in the state and #7 in Western PA.
While the US News ranking is only one of many indicators of success for Mt. Lebanon High School, we are all very proud of our high school students, teachers and administrators on this outstanding academic accomplishment.
