Washington Bullying Prevention Program
(WBPP)
Washington School began piloting the OLWEUS Bullying Prevention Program, a comprehensive, school-wide, researched program designed to reduce and prevent bullying problems and improve peer relations, in May 2007. During that time, baseline data was collected from our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students regarding their perceptions and experiences with bullying, utilizing the OLWEUS survey. In August 2007 the school-wide program officially began which included:
! School-Wide Kick-Off events
! School Rules Against Bullying
! Student Pledges
! K-5 Weekly Classroom meetings
! Bullying prevention and intervention procedures
! Annual Spring Survey for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students
Our program continues for the 4th year with the help of administrators, teachers, staff, students and parents to make Washington School a safe, bully-free environment for learning. The attached documents are for parent review regarding our program. Please contact Mrs. Kirkham, Principal or Mrs. Morin, School Counselor with any questions.
