Title I
Title I is a federal program that provides funding to schools to improve academic achievement, especially of disadvantaged students. Title I is a program first authorized by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act in 1965. It has been reauthorized ever since, including most recently under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
The Mt. Lebanon School District has two elementary schools that are eligible for this funding, Washington and Lincoln. Our schools use these funds to support reading specialists who work with students in small groups to provide additional instruction. Funds also support our parent workshops and trainings.
