Mt. Lebanon School District Elementary Library Aid Nikki McBride was named Outstanding School Library Paraprofessional by the Pennsylvania School Library Association (PSLA).
Serving as the library aide for Mt. Lebanon’s three largest elementary schools, Mrs. McBride has made an incredible impact supporting students, staff, and the library programs across buildings. Her dedication, warmth, and love of literacy were recognized through nominations submitted by students and librarians Ms. Cassie Mader (Howe), Mrs. Sarah Blotzer (Washington), and Mrs. Maureen Staub (Lincoln), along with Dr. Ron Kitsko (Lincoln Principal) and Mrs. Jacqui Zapko (Lincoln 2nd Grade Teacher).
Mrs. McBride received her award at the PSLA Annual Conference Awards Breakfast in Erie, PA on Friday, April 4, which is also National School Librarian Day! She attended the event with her husband and was joined in celebration by Markham Librarian and PSLA Conference Planning Committee Member Mrs. Jackie Fulton and Maureen Staub.
