Going the Extra Mile: Sharon Kroner

School Crossing Guard Supervisor, Sharon Kroner, was honored with an Extra Mile Award at the School Board meeting last night. Here are School Board President Jacob Wyland's remarks:

This evening I also have the honor of welcoming an extremely important individual to our School District to accept an Extra Mile Award.  Sharon Kroner has been the supervisor of the crossing guards for many years and does the work extremely well with diligence, organization, and attention to detail.

Through the submission of this Extra Mild Award, the District’s Central Administration staff made it loud and clear how valuable of an asset she is to not only the District but our community as well.

One submission read, “Sharon goes above and beyond making herself available to us in a time of need, or to make a timely adjustment when school arrival or dismissal is impacted by weather or any type of emergent situation.  She always answers her phone and is quick to offer a suggestion or work through an issue when she sees one.  Sharon is thorough and knows her work well.  She is able to easily recall which stop will need coverage on a certain day and takes pride in being able to troubleshoot to ensure that no children are put at risk during arrival or dismissal times.  Not only does she supervise the guard staff, but you will often see her filling in for her colleagues and going above and beyond to get the job done.  I am proud to be able to work so closely with Sharon and believe that she deserves this Extra Mile Award for her dedication and compassion toward our community’s youth.”
