Congratulations to Mt. Lebanon High School students Antonio Carapella, senior [Group B, advanced student] and Shohjahon Abdusamatov, freshman [Group A, beginning student] who have advanced to the second round of the Internationale Deutscholympiade--the International German Olympics--the world's biggest competition for the German language.
This event takes place every two years, and 150 students from 75 countries take part. The first round is online, the second round is in Chicago from December 6-7, 2019, and the final round is in Dresden, Germany from July 26 - August 8, 2020. All travel expenses for students who qualify are covered by the Goethe-Institut.
