Hello and welcome to the Mt. Lebanon School District Special Education & Student Services page! In addition to providing a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum, the District is also committed to providing the necessary services so that all students become successful, lifelong learners. Consequently, an array of Student Support Services is offered in each building. Our mission is to provide the necessary supports to maximize the academic, social, and emotional growth for each and every student.
Draft PDE Special Education Plan, 2025-2028
PDE Special Education Plan
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is responsible for ensuring that all special education programs in public schools are appropriate, compliant, and effective. To do this, school districts must submit a Special Education Plan every three years to PDE as required under 22 Pa. Code § 14.104. The school district's Special Education Plan outlines planning generated from district special education data, compliance monitoring, professional development activities, and training necessary to provide appropriate programs to students with disabilities. This document is a compliance document and was posted on May 7 and will be voted on by the Board of School Directors on June 16.
At the May 12, 2025 Discussion Meeting the Special Education and Student Services Reviews will be shared with the public. Also, on May 21, the draft Strategic Plan that outlines a plan for the next seven years, including Special Education and Student Services will be shared with the public.
