Attendance

Starting this school year, Mt. Lebanon School District uses one attendance process for every student, kindergarten through grade 12.

All attendance is managed in the PowerSchool Portal accessed through LeboID.

For help accessing Lebo ID or a step-by-step process to enter attendance, visit the quick links on this page.

Reporting an Absence

  • Report attendance by logging in to the PowerSchool Portal (Dashboard) using your Lebo ID
  • Please click Forms, complete the attendance form for your student, and submit.
    • Without documentation, absences are marked unexcused. Multiple unexcused absences may require an attendance review.
    • For absences other than pre-approved and school-sanctioned absences:
      • Parents or legal guardians must submit an excuse electronically through the PowerSchool Portal or by another approved method.
      • The excuse must be submitted within three school days of the student's return.
      • Until the excuse is received, the absence is considered unexcused.
      • If documentation is not submitted within three days, the absence becomes permanently unexcused.

Excused Absences

  • Pennsylvania law allows parents/guardians to excuse up to ten (10) days of absence during a school year for legitimate reasons such as illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, pre-approved educational trips or family travel, and other allowable circumstances.

Pre-Approved Absences
The District recognizes that students may participate in planned educational trips or travel with their family. In these circumstances, the following steps should be followed:

  • A request is submitted at least five days in advance through the PowerSchool Portal after logging in to Lebo ID.
  • The trip (pre-approved absence) has educational or family value.
  • Approval is granted by the Building Administrator or their designee.
  • Whenever possible, please plan extended trips during scheduled school breaks.

Health-Related Absences

  • Students absent due to illness for five or more consecutive days must report to the Health Office upon returning to school so that a readmission form may be completed.
