Academic Excellence & Rankings

• Pittsburgh Business Times Guide to Western PA Schools (2024): Ranked #6 in the region and #10 in Pennsylvania. Mt. Lebanon has consistently placed among the top districts since the rankings began in 2005.
• Niche Rankings (2025): Ranked #88 nationally, #2 in the region, and #5 in Pennsylvania, based on academic data, surveys, and reviews.
• U.S. News & World Report (2024): Mt. Lebanon High School earned a Silver Ranking, placing #19 in Pennsylvania, #7 in the Pittsburgh area, and among the top 4% of high schools nationwide. All Mt. Lebanon elementary and middle schools rank within the top 100 schools in Pennsylvania, with middle schools in the top 15 statewide.

Arts, Innovation & Sustainability

• Best Communities for Music Education (2026): Named one of the nation’s Top 100 Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation for the 19th consecutive year.
• U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School: Mt. Lebanon High School recognized for leadership in sustainability, wellness, and environmental education.
• Digital School District Award: Ranked #1 nationally among mid-sized districts and the only Pennsylvania district recognized in this category.

Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency

• ASBO Meritorious Budget Award: Earned for 28 consecutive years, recognizing excellence in budget presentation.
• ASBO Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting: Awarded for 38 consecutive years, reflecting strong financial stewardship and accountability.

National Blue Ribbon Schools

• Mt. Lebanon schools have been nationally recognized for academic excellence:
  • Mt. Lebanon High School: 1983–84, 1990–91, 1997–98.
  • Washington Elementary School: 2003–04.
  • Lincoln Elementary School: 2000–01, 2002–03, 2013.
