This year, student schedules will not be emailed home. Schedules will only be available through the PowerSchool Portal on July 27, and only after the required Handbook & Technology Signoff Form has been completed.

Each school shares important information specific to its building, including:

An email with this information will be sent to contacts using the address provided in PowerSchool Portal on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Mt. Lebanon School District develops annual notices for parents/guardians and students. Various federal and state laws mandate that school districts provide students, parents, and the public with annual notices, many of which must be issued at the start of the school year.

Annual Notifications

• Create or add funds to your PaySchools Central account.
• Apply for free or reduced-price meals if you qualify.
• View menus for the new school year.

• Review annual health requirements. 
• Make sure your student's immunizations are up to date and submitted to the school nurse. 
• Send in any required physical or dental exam forms.
• Contact your school nurse about any medication needs.

• Review the technology guidelines. Look over the personal-device expectations for your student's grade band and acknowledge them in your PowerSchool Dashboard. 
• Students in grades 6–12 should plan to bring a non-cell-phone device each day, or request to borrow one.

Contact Technology

Mt. Lebanon is proud to be a walkable community. Each day, many students walk to and from school using neighborhood sidewalks and designated crossings. Crossing guards play an important role in helping students cross safely at key intersections along these routes.

Micromobility Regulations

If your student uses a bike, e-bike, scooter, or another personal device to travel to school, please review Pennsylvania's micromobility regulations before the school year begins.

• Electric scooters cannot be legally operated on public roadways and can only be operated on private property in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  
• Minimally, you are to be 16 years of age to operate a motor scooter, motorized Pedalcycle, or an E-bike in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  
• If a student uses a mode of transportation that does not comply with these regulations, they will be reminded of the rules and asked to comply.

Parents can assist our schools by ensuring that their student is using appropriate means to travel to/from school each day.

K-8 Simplified Language for Technology Guidelines

Guidelines by grade band outline expectations for K–12 students on using personal devices (cell phones, smartphones, smartwatches, earbuds, and headphones), Bring Your Own Technology, and district-issued devices during the school day.

• Grades K–5: Personal electronic devices (cell phones, Smartphones/Smart Watches/any earbuds or headphones) must be off and stored in lockers and are not permitted during school hours unless authorized. 
  • District-issued and personal devices may not be used during lunch, recess, instructional free time, or as a PBIS reward.
• Grades 6–8: Personal electronic devices (cell phones, Smartphones/Smart Watches/any earbuds or headphones) must be turned off and stored in lockers and are not permitted during school hours.  Personal Devices, Bring Your Own Technology or
  • District-Issued Chromebooks may be used for learning purposes within the classroom at the direction of each individual teacher.
  • District-issued and personal devices may not be used during lunch, recess, instructional free time, or as a PBIS reward
• Grades 9–12: Personal Electronic Devices (cell phones, Smartphones/Smart Watches/any earbuds or headphones) are strictly prohibited in academic areas and/or during instructional time, unless the staff member provides explicit permission for such use to complete an instructional task. 
  • Students are permitted to use a cell phone/Smartphone/Any earbuds or headphones in hallways between classes, in Center Court, and in the Activities Office area. 
  • All personal electronic devices must be placed in classroom holders during lessons.
  • Personal Devices, Bring Your Own Technology, or District-Issued Chromebook devices may be used for learning purposes within the classroom at the direction of each individual teacher.  

Students using a District-issued device may purchase an optional Equipment Protection Plan (EPP). The plan is not required but provides coverage for one District-issued device during the school year.
