During S@H your child will be considered “present” every day unless you notify the school. At the elementary level, student attendance is a parent/guardian responsibility. If your elementary aged child is sick and unable to complete their work on a S@H day, we ask that you complete the Absence Form on your school’s S@H page. This form will also serve as your child’s excuse.
In order to best instruct students in this new learning environment, teachers will be designing lessons and activities that focus on the essential standards and content of their grade level. Remote/online learning will not allow teachers to provide the same level of robust instruction. Many learning activities will need to be adapted to work in this instructional format.
Timeframe for each content area (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science) have been reduced. Lessons will be designed to allow for as much independent student work as possible. We are using an “asynchronous” model which means that learning activities will be posted daily (or weekly) and families will have flexibility on when to complete them. The times below are a guideline as to the approximate time of each lesson or activity by subject area.
English Language Arts
Science & Social Studies
Lessons Per Week
Visual Art, Library*
Spanish, Vocal Music, Spanish, Physical Education
Health (grades 4, 5)
Every other week
*NOTE: Kindergarten has Library and Guidance as their encore subjects.
If students are unable to complete a learning activity, please contact the teacher for help. It will not benefit a student to continue to attempt a lesson if they are struggling.
If you have questions about this, please contact your child’s teacher, principal, or Dr. Marybeth Irvin
Online class meetings are an optional time for students to connect synchronously with their teacher and classmates. They are scheduled once weekly for Kindergarten and twice weekly for grades 1-5. These are an opportunity for students to see their teacher and classmates and are not for instructional purposes.
These meetings are not required for students. If you do not wish for your child to participate please complete the Opt Out form.
Meeting times are scheduled every 30 minutes to allow for families with multiple children. Teachers may need to adjust the times of these meetings due to a variety of circumstances. These changes will be communicated with parents and students.

Student assignments are posted daily or weekly and are accessible via the Clever App. Once in the Clever App, your child will see icons for each teacher or class they are enrolled in. Clicking each icon will take you to the teacher/class page or site for more information.
Classroom core classes (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies) will be posted daily or weekly.
Encore classes (Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, and Spanish) will be posted on the first school day of each week.
Instrumental music lessons will also be posted weekly on the first school day of the week.
Health for students in grades 4 and 5 will be posted on the first school day of the week.
All students have a Clever account and have experience using the app to log on to educational programs such as Dreambox. They can sign into Clever using their District email account and password, or a QR code provided by the teacher.
In addition to links to their assignment information, students are able to access online learning tools such as Dreambox, Reflex and Lexia via Clever.
Directions for accessing Clever are found on the Tech@Home webpage.
