Mt. Lebanon High School Recognized as a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School 


Mt. Lebanon High School was among the forty-six schools and six districts who were honored on September 19, 2018 at the 2018 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools ceremony in Washington D.C. for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and costs, promote better health, and ensure effective environmental education.  The high school was one of only two Pennsylvania schools to receive this distinction this year.


The award highlights schools that have engaged in promising practices and as a model for other schools to employ. Representatives from honored schools, districts, and postsecondary institutions received sustainably crafted plaques in recognition of their achievements. Read More


Join Us for a School Community Conversation About School Safety

Plan to attend a School Community Conversation on Safety and Security in the Mt. Lebanon School District on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. This event will be a continuation of the discussion Dr. Tim Steinhauer and MLPD Police Chief Aaron Lauth held last March. They will discuss safety updates and  will provide an opportunity for questions and feedback.

Public Art At Its Finest: The High School Mosaic Tree

This year the high school has a beautiful new art installation in the Auditorium Lobby. The High School Mosaic Tree was designed by art student Devon Scott-Davis and guided by art instructor and Fine Arts Department Chair Mrs. Jennifer Rodriguez. Extra Mile Award Recipient Honored at Board Meeting

The School Board honored high school English teacher Benjamin Minett with the Extra Mile Award at the September meeting. Mr. Minett was nominated as a result of a letter written by Ms. Louanne Baily, the mother of one of his former students, and sent to the school board and high school principal Brian McFeeley. October 10th In-Service: Mental Health & Well-Being 


On Wednesday, October 10, the District will hold an Act 80 ½ day for an in-service in the afternoon.  All students K-12 will be dismissed at noon and afternoon Kindergarten will not be in session.  The purpose of this Act 80 day is to provide In-service training for all employees in the District on the topic of mental health and well-being.  Dr. Mary Margaret Kerr from the University of Pittsburgh will be our speaker.  Dr. Kerr is Professor and former Chair of Administrative and Policy Studies, Professor of Psychology in Education, and Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh.


School Board Approves New Business Director

At the September 17, 2018 School Board meeting, the Board approved Robert F. Geletko as the new business director of the Mt. Lebanon School District. Prior to Mt. Lebanon, Mr. Geletko served as the Connellsville Area School District Assistant to the Superintendent for Finance and Operations and Board Treasurer. Read More


Link Crew Faculty Advisers Honored at School Board Meeting

The high school faculty advisors for the Link Crew program– Mike Locke, Shelly Saba, Christy Smith and Katelyn Deet–were honored at the September 17 School Board meeting for their coordination of this extremely successful program. Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Read More


 Mt. Lebanon High School 2018 Hall of Champions  

Each fall the Mt. Lebanon High School Athletic Department inducts teams and individuals into the High School Hall of Champions. On October 6, the 2018 Hall of Champions will be inducted. The Hall of Champions includes WPIAL and PIAA championship teams; individual WPIAL and PIAA champions; All-American and All-State athletes.
