At the February 15, 2021 School Board meeting, Dr. Steinhauer provided a COVID -19 Update for the Board and community. At the same meeting, the Board approved a revision to the District's Reopening Education Plan for secondary that includes a 4 day option for Hybrid students, grades 6-12. Any changes to instructional modality would only take place after Allegheny County's transmission rates are in the Moderate or Low Range as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for two consecutive weeks.
At the same meeting, the School Board tabled a resolution to revise the Reopening Education Plan for elementary to expand to five full days until the March 8, 2021 Discussion Meeting. Until then, elementary schools will remain in the current hybrid instructional mode.
Secondary Update: On February 26, 2021, the Pennsylvania Department of Health's Early Warning COVID Dashboard indicated that Allegheny County is again in the Moderate range for community transmission. Since the county is now in the second consecutive week in the Moderate range, the metrics determined by the School Board have been met to begin the 4-day Hybrid option for secondary. Those students who selected this option will begin attending classes in person 4 days a week on Monday, March 1.
