MTLSD Announces New Administrators at Mellon Middle & Markham Elementary Schools

At the February 16 meeting of the Mt. Lebanon School District Board of School Directors, the Board approved the following administrative appointments: 

• Dr. Gina Mahouski - Principal, Mellon Middle School 
• Mr. Dan Ridge - Principal, Markham Elementary School 

About Dr. Gina Mahouski, Mellon Middle School Principal

• A proud Mt. Lebanon School District alumna, Dr. Gina Mahouski currently serves as the interim principal at Mellon Middle School. She joined the District in June 2022 after serving as a high school assistant principal and English teacher in the Pine-Richland School District. Dr. Mahouski earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) from Point Park University. In 2024, Dr. Mahouski was recognized as one of 15 “Most Valuable Principals” (MVP) by the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, and the Grable Foundation. Dr. Mahouski is the proud parent of three Mt. Lebanon students. Her appointment is effective immediately.  

About Mr. Dan Ridge, Markham Elementary Principal

• Mr. Ridge has served the District for more than two decades in teaching, leadership, and coaching roles. A former social studies teacher at Mellon Middle School, Mr. Ridge currently serves as the interim principal of Markham Elementary and served as Interim Principal at Hoover Elementary School (April–June 2024), Mt. Lebanon High School (Unit Principal, 2019–2022), Mellon Middle School (Assistant Principal, 2017–2018) and is the Head Coach of the 8th Grade Football Team since 2004. Mr. Ridge earned his Bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University and a Master’s degree in School Administration from California University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Ridge is the proud parent of four Mt. Lebanon students. His appointment is effective immediately.
