Nutritional analysis
The Mt. Lebanon School District Food Service department is 100% commited to the health and well-being of each and every child in the district. We believe nutrition and healthy eating habits are fundamental skills for young children, and that we play an important role in helping your child learn about and enjoy a variety of nutritious foods each day.
It is our goal to provide a variety of healthy and acceptable meals and snacks that are nutritious, safe, and properly portioned for your child. Our menu is planned so that it meets federal and state requirements and guidelines established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The files below contain information about the nutrient content of the meals served in our cafeterias. The information provided should be used as a general guideline rather than for exact nutrient content. Ingredient and menu items are subject to change without notice

MEAL PAYMENT PROCESS
Mt. Lebanon School District uses a secure, cashless debit system for student meals. Families can add funds to their child’s account in advance, making lunch purchases quick and easy.
Please make sure there are enough funds on your child’s account to cover meals. If an account goes into the negative, it must be paid as soon as possible.
Adding Funds to Student Accounts
Parents/guardians can deposit money to student lunch accounts online, by mail, or in person.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application
Children need healthy meals to learn, so the Mt. Lebanon School District is committed to offer healthy meals every school day for our students. For the 2024-2025 school year, breakfast is free; lunch costs $2.65 for elementary students and $2.80 for middle school and high school students. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is free for breakfast and for lunch. The mission of the Mt Lebanon School District Food Service Department is to promote good nutrition by providing quality meals while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The Mt. Lebanon School District’s Food Service Department is committed to providing healthy and well-balanced meals to your children. Our cafeteria is focused on health, wellness and good nutrition. We continuously strive to offer a large variety of quality food choices in the cafeteria.
Freshly prepared, nutritious lunches will be provided by our food service department. Our program follows the nutritional requirements of the National School Lunch Program, Mt. Lebanon School District Wellness Policy and meets the nutritional standards set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Families that have children attending a public school district can apply for free or reduced price school meals through the National School Lunch Program online using COMPASS. COMPASS allows Pennsylvanian’s to apply for social service programs, such as Food Stamps (FS), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Energy Assistance, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), etc., online. Families can use COMPASS to apply for free or reduced price school meals only, or they can apply for other services at the same time (FS, TANF, etc.). The website is www.compass.state.pa.us or you can continue to use the Free or Reduced Price School Meal application. If you apply for free or reduced price school meals through COMPASS, you do not need to submit a paper application.
Good nutrition is essential to growing children. The food service staff is dedicated to helping develop healthy eating habits for everyone in the district.

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. This summer, USDA plans to serve more than 200 million free meals to children 18 years and under at approved SFSP sites.
