Please congratulate 8th grader Vishnu Venugopal and 7th grader Felix Yang, who represented Mellon Middle School at the 85th annual Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) science fair, held at Duquesne University on Saturday, Feb. 2nd. Both won first place in their categories. Vishnu received a first place award for his physics project along with two special awards: the Duquesne University Science Excellence Award and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Engineering Outreach award for a project excelling in a field related to engineering. Vishnu has qualified to compete at the PJAS state competition held at Penn State University, State College, PA. in May.

Felix received a first place award for his chemistry project along with two special awards: the Duquesne University Science Excellence Award and the American Chemical Society award for a project excelling in a field related to chemistry . Felix has also qualified to compete at the PJAS state competition held at Penn State University, State College, PA. in May.
