5th Grade Students Supporting the Sea Turtle Rescue at the Pittsburgh Zoo

The 5th grade students at Lincoln worked on a project to raise money for the Sea Turtle rescue at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. They planned, organized and executed their own fundraiser to collect $800 dollars for The Sea Turtle Second Chance Program. The fundraiser involved making necklaces, bracelets, zipper pulls and bookmarks with sea turtle charms. Students went on a field trip to zoo in early February and presented the donation check to representatives from the Pittsburgh Zoo. They were kind enough to post this on the zoo's Facebook at Our goal was to raise $1000. In an effort to reach that goal, the students are going continue the fundraiser at their display during the STEAM showcase on February 23, 2017. The students also made a webpage to share more about their efforts to help The Sea Turtle Second Chance Program -

Thanks to all of our friends and family that helped with our fundraising!
