Family Reading Night is a special event at Howe School. Each spring students voluntarily create imaginative floats and cakes to commemorate their favorite books and book characters. The Parade of Books and cake auction are highly anticipated events. Other activities include a musical "Book Walk" and a game where students accompany stories read aloud with various musical instruments to create sound effects! A Scholastic BOGO Book Sale, Betsy's Ice Cream and other activities round out an evening of celebrating reading, community and creativity! This year marks Librarian Carol Cercone's (FRN creator) 12th annual event. As Mrs. Cercone is retiring at the end of this school, this year's FRN was bittersweet. The love and support expressed for her last night reinforced our commitment to ensure her legacy continues with this important tradition!
