The annual Lincoln Veterans Day program was held the morning of November 10, 2017. This salute to local veterans was an awe-inspiring and emotional program for all in attendance. We want to thank Mrs. Majestic, Mr. Yannascoli, Ms. Damp, the Lincoln staff and students who prepared so diligently for this program. Over 60 veterans were in attendance and we had a wonderful guest speaker – USMC Sergeant Mike Heller. Sergeant Heller shared his experiences while serving overseas in Iraq and his involvement with Wounded Warrior Project since leaving active service. He reminded us why we need to honor our nation's veterans not just on Veterans Day, but every day of the year.
We received a special gift from Staff Sergeant Phi Nguyen during the program. He presented the school with a United States flag that was flown over Camp Arifjan in Kuwait on July 4, 2017. Staff Sergeant Nguyen is currently serving in the United States Army Reserves and his unit is the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. We were thrilled to be presented with such an amazing gift! The flag and certificate will be placed in Lincoln for all to see. A huge Lincoln "thank you" goes out to Staff Sergeant Nguyen!
Please join us in thanking all veterans that have served in the armed forces and the men and women that are still on active duty. Their commitment to our nation is to be commended.
