We are excited to kick off our Lincoln Winter Olympics, which began with our Opening Ceremonies on Friday, February 9th. Each class has selected a country to represent and during their physical education classes will take part in several Winter Olympic sporting events. During the weeks leading up to the Olympics and during the two weeks that event takes place, students will learn about their selected country in all of their classes, whether it be art, music, library, foreign language, physical education or in their classroom. All students will take part in the opening and closing ceremonies with a "Parade of Nations" and lighting of the Lincoln Cauldron. During our Olympic Celebration, we hope that the students at Lincoln will learn about the history of the Olympics, along with some parts of the world that they may have never heard of before now. We want this event to be an enjoyable and educational experience for all students who are involved. We hope that the students at Lincoln will watch and show an interest in the Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
