The University of Pittsburgh held the fourth annual Model European Union Conference on December 7 and for the fourth year in a row Mt. Lebanon High School won the 1st Place award.
Pitt's Model EU featured three separate rooms with students competing as leaders of the 27 countries in the actual European Union. The debates focused on the two topics of "What Now for Brexit?" and "Transatlantic Ties Between the US and Europe."
Our students won 1st place in each of the three rooms and also won the overall 1st Place Team Award. Of the nine awards given in the committees, our students won six. Three other schools each claimed one award.
A total of 18 Lebo students competed and 16 won individual honors. They were as follows:
Seniors--Abigail Duclos, Rebecca Schwartz, Flynn Begor, Aoife Ruby Dunne, Owen Descalzi, Dan Helmeci
Juniors--Sein Lee, Antonio Carapella, Daniel McNulty
