Mt. Lebanon High School will present the classic Broadway musical The Sound of Music, on May 2- 4 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on May 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Lebanon High School Auditorium. Music is by Richard Rogers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse suggested by "the Von Trapp Family Singers" by Maria Augusta Trapp.
The Friday, May 3 performance is SOLD OUT and only a few tickets are available for the Saturday, May 4th performances which may be purchased at the door. $12 for Adults and $8 for Students.
The Sound of Music is about a young Austrian woman studying to become a nun in Salzburg, Austria in 1938 who is sent to the villa of a retired naval officer and widower to be governess to his seven children. After bringing love and music into the lives of the family through kindness and patience, she marries the officer and together with the children they find a way to survive the loss of their homeland through courage and faith.
