The Mt. Lebanon School District was recognized as a top school district in the nation in the 13th Digital School Districts Survey Awards. Ranked #1 in the mid-sized student population category of 3,000 - 12,000 students, Mt. Lebanon is also the only school district in Pennsylvania in this national ranking. This award is sponsored by The Center for Digital Education and the National School Boards Association and was presented at the National School Board Association's national conference on April 25, 2017.
"This award is the result of the successful collaboration of all elements of our district including instruction and operations," said Superintendent Dr. Timothy Steinhauer. "But most importantly, it reflects prominently on the collaboration between our technology and communications departments."
The Digital School Districts Survey Awards recognize exemplary use of technology by school boards and districts. The survey generates top ten rankings for districts that excel in the use of technology to govern the district, communicate with students, parents and the community, or improve district operations. Over the past three years, the District has been ranked among the top five school districts in our category but this is the first number one ranking for Mt. Lebanon.
The rankings are based on information gathered from hundreds of participating districts about digital and emerging technologies; communications and constituent engagement; data management and safety; and learning and delivery methods.
The Digital School Districts Survey top-ten rankings are awarded to the school boards/districts that most fully implement technology benchmarks in the evolution of digital education, as represented in the survey questions.
