Another Great Season for Model UN Team

MUNCongratulations to our Model UN team for closing out their season with a first place team award at Ohio State University's Model UN conference the weekend of April 6-8. The team won first place team honors against high schools from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois.

Winning first place honors were seniors Connor Alexander and Marley Howell. Additionally, junior Rebecca Schwartz and freshman Katherine Wilkinson also took first place honors. A number of our students finished "top three" in committee including seniors Bennett Palumbo, Grace Brown, Aya Obeid and Max King. Sophomores Dan McNulty, Sein Lee and Antonio Carapella were also recognized.

University of Delaware "Outstanding Delegation Award"


The Mt. Lebanon Model UN team received the "Outstanding Delegation" team award at the University of Delaware Model UN tournament held in early March. It is the second straight year that our Model UN team has won the team award at Delaware. In addition, five of our students won individual awards in their committees. They were seniors Max King, Thomas Cosentino and Connor Alexander, who all won 1st Place honors in their committees. Junior Rebecca Schwartz won 2nd Place in her historical committee of "The League of Nations" and Sophomore Daniel McNulty took 3rd Place in his group.

This caps off another very successful season that included team victories at Penn State University, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Delaware. The coaches, Mr. Adam Lumish, Mr. George Savarese and Mr. Pete DiNardo are extremely proud of the team and look forward to a wonderful 2018-2019 year!
