This year the high school has a beautiful new art installation in the Auditorium Lobby. The High School Mosaic Tree was designed by art student Devon Scott-Davis and guided by art instructor and Fine Arts Department Chair Mrs. Jennifer Rodriguez. The mural was possible due to the generosity of a Mt. Lebanon Foundation for Education grant.
"The Mosaic Tree began with an idea to create a large-scale mural whose aesthetic and symbolic impact could be felt school-wide. A highly regarded staple of our landscape in Mt. Lebanon, a tree is the perfect representation of the roots or foundation our students receive in our fine high school.
Art students cooperatively designed and created 26 unique circles, each one honoring and unifying the extraordinary nuances within our school culture. The 2017-2018 Mt. Lebanon High School student body, administration, faculty, and staff were all invited to select and place a tile on the tree trunk, which serves as a permanent symbol of our collaboration and connectivity. Each tile represents and celebrates the individuality of those who placed them." –Mrs. Jen Rodriguez
