On January 13, the Mt. Lebanon School District Century of Excellence Capital Campaign received a generous gift of $25,561 from the Coach Lamprinakos Memorial Fund at Mt. Lebanon Community Endowment. The gift memorializes Coach Lamprinakos and also supports the wrestling program's needs. Joseph King, president of the Mt. Lebanon Community Endowment, said "The Mt. Lebanon Community Endowment was honored to work with the Lamprinakos family to set up a donor advised fund in honor of former wrestling coach George Lamprinakos. On behalf of the Lamprinakos Family, we would like to express our appreciation to all of the many friends of the family and former wrestlers who contributed to this fund at the Endowment over the past couple of years." Mr. King, Rich Lerach, vice president of the Endowment, and Audrey Bode, executive director, were at the school to present the check to former wrestling coach Bill Lewis, current coach Marc Allemang, athletic director John Grogan and high school principal Brian McFeeley.

"We are extremely grateful to the Lamprinakos family for their continued support of Mt. Lebanon Wrestling and their recent donation to the program in honor of legendary Coach George Lamprinakos. Coach Lamprinakos established one of the top programs in the state of PA for decades and more importantly instilled the values of commitment, dedication and leadership in his athletes," said Bill Lewis. "Due to the family's generosity we now have the means to preserve the rich history and tradition of Mt. Lebanon wrestling with upgraded record boards and historical displays. A bronze plaque honoring Coach Lamprinakos will also be displayed outside of the wrestling room. Other funds will go toward providing equipment and resources for the program which will benefit young wrestlers for many years to come. This partnership with the Lamprinakos family will benefit our wrestling program well into the future and allow us to continue sharing the values and high standards that Coach Lamprinakos instilled many decades ago. His legacy lives on and will continue to impact our students today, tomorrow and for years to come."
